First “French Postal Express” Freight Train Left Chengdu for Europe

Via New SilkRoad Discovery, a report on the first “French Postal Express” freight train from Chengdu to Europe:

On April 26, the first “French Postal Express” China-Europe freight train was launched at the Chengdu International Railway Port in Sichuan and is expected to arrive in Europe in 14 days. This is also the first time that La Poste, the state-owned French postal company has used the China-Europe railway freight service to carry out long-distance transportation.

The China-Europe freight train loaded with small household appliances, electronic products, customized clothing and other cross-border e-commerce goods successfully departed from Chengdu International Railway Port. Afterwards, regular operations will be realized at a frequency of no less than two trips per month.

Accoring to the representative of La Poste and DPD’s brand department for region Asia-Pacific, more frequent trains will be sent in the future. This is a sign of La Poste’s further expansion of the Chinese market. With their partners in Chengdu, the French company will realize the stable operation of both west- and eastbound transportation, which is expected to improve the service level of international business.

Up to now, the railway freight routes from Chengdu have connected 100 overseas cities and 30 domestic cities. A total of more than 22,000 transportation trips have been reached and more than 15,000 companies served.
