Russia is considering the creation of ports to organize the flow of domestic goods with African countries, in particular in Tanzania, Senegal, Algeria and Egypt. Roman Chekushov, director of the department of international cooperation and licensing in the field of foreign trade of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, told TASS at the international industrial exhibition “Innoprom. Central Asia”.
“There are several projects in Africa that should be implemented in the near future. One of them is the creation of a port in one of the African countries for the entry of Russian products, for organizing cargo flow. Several countries are now being considered for the creation of such ports. Because we are interested in the entry as on the eastern side – these are primarily countries such as Tanzania, for example. We are interested in the entrance from the western side – from the west we work primarily with Senegal, where the largest volume of cargo traffic from the Russian Federation is known and Russian products are known, so this is sufficient. logical,” he said.
In the northern part, two main points are considered – Algeria and Egypt.
